A solo concert with songs from the playlist of life. Specifically Gunhild Aadland Rolfsnes' playlist. A playlist that mixes everything between pop, folk, rock, soul, gospel, negro spirituals, jazz, French prunes, folk tunes and hymn treasures. It's not every day that she presents herself this way. She regularly appears in the band Klingenberg with colleagues, and in the duo Lykte with her husband John-Inge Rolfsnes. But alone at the keys, she experiences the greatest musical freedom.
She has been singing and playing the piano since she was a little girl. Everyday life was filled with music, everyone at home was doing it, and luckily the music program at Stord started when she was going to high school. Furthermore, she studied basic music in Oslo and intermediate and majoring musicology in Trondheim.
For Gunhild, singing is more than a musical expression. To sing is to explore - the music, the existence, the soul, the thoughts and experiences, the hope. The concert will bear the brunt of this. Through Song she explores aspects of lived life, lyrics, genres, vocalists who inspire and influence her, the keys her mogleikers, the voice her mogleikers. Through a personal and down-to-earth concert, she hopes to create a time bubble, a time where one can sit down and listen and experience that time stands a little still, before moving on into the day.
It's kind of a 50th anniversary celebration, a little out of the ordinary.
