Turbojugend Stord turns 20 years old and invites you to HEAVYHELG in collaboration with Bakeriet Frugård.
As the first headliner, we release Bokassa!
The punk metal trio Bokassa aka "Norsk Rocks Buzz Aldrin" has, to ambitious slackers, experienced quite a bit during its relatively short existence. Even without matching outfits, various masks or other trend-fogging behavior, the band has managed to release four critically acclaimed albums, toured with Mastodon, Baroness, Judas Priest, Zebrahead, Red Fang and Metallica, among others. They have played at several of the world's biggest festivals (Wacken, Download, Hellfest, Resurrection, Summer Breeze, etc.). They have been nominated for Spellemann (and lost), won the Bendiksen Award, played live sessions at BBC Radio 1 and tried at least five different types of Pepsi Max along the way.
The self-released debut "Divide & Conquer" was named one of 2017's best debut albums by venerable Metal Hammer UK and one of the last decade's best Norwegian albums by Gaffa. In 2019, they were handpicked by Metallica, along with Ghost, to support their "Worldwired" tour, with no record label, management or booking company backing them. In 2024, their fourth and so far last album "All Out Of Dreams", with musical guests from Sick Of It All and Red Fang, came to brilliant reviews, including 4/5 in Kerrang, 8/10 in Metal Hammer UK, 5/6 in Dagsavisen and 9/10 at Powerplay Magazine. Kerrang said it best with the following line: "Count on Bokassa to keep serving up absolute bangers". It's hard to disagree if you've heard the album. The album shows a band that has never been in better shape. Musically, the physical form is still in place.
As heating the Stordband Sludge and the Hamar Band Armatage Shanks.
Sludge It's the band you're sure to remember after a live performance. They play covers of Glucifer, Audioslave, Mastodon and Turbonegro, among others, and are so swinging that you have to check if the rock foot still sits on after the concert. Everything from catchy riffs, swinging solos, sing-alongs on familiar songs and shame-sexy rock on such a high level that it becomes difficult to keep your clothes on. Sludge consists of: Ronny Ormseth-Vokal Stian Kleppe-Gitar Robert Brady-Gitar Anders Hauan-Bass Stian Karlsen-Trommer
