Writer, comedian and poet Jon Hjørnevik, plus Dagfinn Iversen and his guitar, are finally in place in Arena!
Jon Hjørnevik is unfortunately from Voss. After some hectic morning hours on 14.04.70, midwife Magnhild Undeland and his mother wished Hjørnevik - henceforth called the author - welcome to Voss County Hospital. The father could not be present at birth. It wasn't common at the time that the father of the child was. The author wakes up from the very first day. It was a battle where the author proved early on not to be able to do the right thing. He was weak in cross-country skiing, weak in football and insecure in his encounter with the opposite sex.
It has nevertheless not relied on the efforts of the author through adolescence, study time and working life. But he's never found peace of mind in anything out there. This peaked when the author was hired as an auditor in the Municipal Audit Office in Oslo in the summer of 1999. He quickly went into a long depression, which has left deep traces in his writing.
The author ran away from his accountant post after a little uplifting year, and traveled the world to find himself. He did not, and in 2000 he was hired as Santa Claus at Kløverhuset in Bergen. At the same time, he played the cabaret with his grandmother and a sweaty buddy. The cabaret bore the same name as his first collection of poems, In a sofa from Korea, which in many ways sums up a turbulent and hard writer's life.
Subsequently, there have been several collections of poetry and breakneck collections of poetry: In a sofa from Koera, The difficult second book, My father's shorts, My mother is standing in the glass, Escape from the row house and Home office at the funeral.
